Who is eligible?

We are approved to deliver a limited number of government funding training places in Certificate III in Racing and Certificate IV in Farriery 

​

Please note:  Some course fees will apply.

Before you are eligible to enrol in the Certificate in Racing, you will need to apply for a Stablehand Licence through either Thoroughbred Racing SA or SA Harness Racing Ltd. 

 

Cert III - You will develop practical skills in a broad range of areas, including: stable duties, attending horses at trackwork, stable operations, handling horses, riding/driving skills etc.

Cert IV - You will develop practical skills in a broad range of areas, including: horse shoe making, Welding, farriery services, faults and defects in horses, shoeing plans, handheld and power tools.

If you are not eligible for a South Australian government funded training place, you may be eligible to have your previous work experience/education assessed and recognised under Recognition of Prior Learning.  If you have any gaps in training, please contact us to discuss an appropriate course of action under our Fee for Service Arrangement.
